The Epping Forest District Local Plan allocates a number of sites for housing development:

  • THOR.R1 Land at Tudor House – approximately 124 homes
    THOR.R2 Land West of High Road – approximately 48 homes

THOR.R1 - TUDOR HOUSE

PERMISSION GRANTED

In January 2024, the developer submitted a planning application to EFDC (EPF/0007/24) for a residential development comprising residential dwellings (Use Class C3), together with car parking, garden spaces, a flexible café/commercial use (Use Class E) with vehicular access from High Road (B1393) external landscaping and associated development.

UPDATE: On 18th September 2024 EFDC GRANTED PERMISSION for this application.  Click HERE to view the EFDC meeting at which this was agreed.

THOR.R2 - ROSARIO

Rosario

PERMISSION GRANTED

In March 2023 an application for 62 homes on the Rosario site was formally granted by EFDC (EPF/0332/22).  This was followed in 2023 by a Reserved Matters application (EPF/1659/23). whcih was granted in March 2024.

It is understood that much of the preparation works for the site has now been completed, and work is expected to intensify toward the latter part of 2024 going into 2025.

On Thursday 22nd August, Diamond Developments held an in person drop in exhibition at Thornwood Common Parish Hall so local residents and interested parties could offer feedback on their proposals.
